REPOSE FRAME

Postcards from Charlotte Colt Atelier

(February 2025)

On a quiet street near the Nice port, the artist Charlotte Colt welcomed us into her creative atelier. She shares the space with Studio Lelaz, an architecture office. Her corner of this modern, shared studio immediately catches the eye with bold strokes and vibrant colors that define her work.

As we talked over a warm conversation, Charlotte shared how her artistic journey evolved from a career in events to a full-time art practice. What started as a natural love for drawing soon attracted clients, leading to brand collaborations and exciting projects. Today, she skillfully balances personal artistic exploration with client work. While her free-form pieces allow for pure creative expression, she also finds unexpected joy in structured projects that bring unique challenges.

In this lively harbor district, surrounded by architectural studios and creative friends, Charlotte has built more than just a workspace—it’s a reflection of her artistic style, infused with the spirit of the French Riviera. Every piece she creates tells a story.

This story is part of our ongoing series exploring the workspaces of contemporary artists and the inspiring places of the French Riviera. Stay with us as we continue discovering inspiring places and artists 🙂

Special thanks to Charlotte for opening her atelier doors and for her warm welcome.
